The series moved on to Watkins Glen later, but the race was canceled due to rain (bad connection). A makeup date has not been set. This week, the series heads to short track heaven, slotting races at the Memphis Motorsports Park and Walt-Disney World Speedway. | ||

Surprised By Road Vivtory Even though there was a light turnout for last weeks ASRA competition, all drivers drivers had fun and enjoyed themselves. The racing was close, even if the drivers were a little rusty. |
|
| The drivers hadn't been on road courses in awhile so braking distances and such were off as there was contact from time to time, but everyone slowed up and the field got back together. The event left the field wanting for more, so next on the schedule is Iowa and Watkins Glen.. | ||
Stickley Holds Off Boyer At Indy |

Race excites drivers, left wanting more What initially was a leisurely get together of sim-racing fans turned into an exciting showdown at Indianapolis on May 23. The speeds quickly rose over 224 miles per hour as the foursome swapped the lead seven |

times. Just like the real 500, this race had its big one as well. Just
after the half-way point, Josh Boyer nosed Tyler Tucker in the middle of
turn-one and sent the Window World car into the air. Unfortunately for
Tucker, the mishap would end his day. You might ask why phrase it like that? The answer is simple, we have the no damage option enabled for the race. We believe everyone should have a chance to be around for the finish. Even though you will be able to continue after an accident, sometimes random mechanical breakdowns occur. |
||
| The Sunday of the 94th Indianapolis 500, three of the drivers got to hold a little round table discussion about the race, among other things. Things quickly turned to Tucker's aerial display and Josh was quick to apologize. "I got close to him and before I had a chance to think about the 'invisible box' on the cars, I was there and he was in |

the air." Tucker quipped it kind of reminded him of the 1995 accident
involving Stan Fox. After a late race restart, Frankie Stickley was
able to pull away for a couple of laps, but Josh Boyer was able to catch
Frankie with a lap remaining. He was able to mount a charge to the line
but fell just short. |

100 miles at Indy and Dover slated in event Everyone is invited to a pick-up ASRA NCS event Sunday! A 100-mile race at Indianapolis and Dover. The idea was hatched by ASRA champ Frankie Stickley. The ASRA Director was up for the event. |
|
|
"I need to get some sim-racing in, I just haven't been able to, and with
Indy a week away, I'm itching for something." Roger continued, "I wanted
to start up the NCS again, but it just didn't get going like I wanted.
This might be the jump start I was looking for." Entry is easy, just click on the driver entry page to sign up. Simple rules for this event, the cars will be in super speedway configuration, Honda engines and Firestone Firehawk tires. This is the OWR mod for the NASCAR Racing 2003 game. (I can't run R-Factor on my computer SORRY!) Throughout the day, more utilities will become available for download to get you up to speed. |

ASRA NCS Re-launches! |

|
TuckGraphics.com helps support NCS return Almost 4 Years to the day, the ASRA is re-launching the National Championship Series. It was Feb. 24, 2006 when Roger Nebelsick stepped away from the ASRA NCS and started to step away from sim-racing. |

However, in July of 2009 one of Roger's best friends was lost in a
automobile accident, and in the wake of the tragedy, he rebuilt the ASRA
to honor his friend and fellow sim-racing junkie, Robert Reinhardt. Later that year the ASRA Racing Series was re-born and re-branded. After a fairly successful 10-race stint, the now small series faced some hardships, and eventually grinding to a halt shortly after the beginning of its second session. Plans were already in the works for the
National Championship Series to return in 2010, and with a little help
from TuckGraphics, the ASRA NCS has new life. |
